Our team is led by our Managing Partner, Mr. Gopal Maheshwari , a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years of all-round experience across verticals including M&A advisory and deal making, strategic consulting, transaction structuring, fund raising, entry strategies, tax structuring and advisory, accounting and auditing etc.

In his past stints, Gopal had been associated with Big 4 accounting firms wherein he worked at senior management roles advising several multi-national corporates on international taxation, establishing business in India, exchange control transactions, tax litigations, audits and due-diligence.

Gopal has also served as CFO of one of the largest media and exhibition company of UK where he was leading finance and commercial division and had also successfully acquired various businesses during this tenure.

Our Chief Advisor Mr. K.V. Rajan is a distinguished former diplomat who served in senior diplomatic assignments in a number of foreign countries. During his 35 years of diplomatic service, Mr. Rajan also occupied prominent and high positions including permanent secretary and advisor to the Minister in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Shweta Agarwal

Shweta is a distinguished Partner who has steadily progressed within the firm since joining in 2013. A qualified Chartered Accountant, she brings over 15 years of extensive professional experience to her role.

 

She excels in corporate finance advisory — specializing in cross-border M&As, comprehensive due diligence, and post-investment integration across multiple sectors. With robust background in financial reporting, taxation and law, she has been providing exemplary advisory services in accounting, tax structuring, company set-up, corporate restructurings, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

 

Shweta is recognized for resolving complex issues such as exchange control (FEMA) violations, tax scrutiny assessments, fraud / forensic investigations, and joint-venture disputes. She also regularly represents clients before Indian taxation and regulatory authorities. Additionally, Shweta leads the firm's non-profit advisory practice, offering strategic counsel on international non-profit operations in India and advising corporates on philanthropy and CSR initiatives.

 

In her earlier stint, she led the corporate development initiatives at MPS Ltd, a large publishing company.

Sanjeev Batra is the Business Development Director at GMC. He spearheads the firm's market outreach, cultivates strategic alliances, and manages key client relationships. With deep expertise in financial and business advisory, he creates sustainable value that supports the strategic objectives of our clients.

 

Sanjeev brings over 25 years of experience in the finance and accounting domain. He has specialized expertise in the Events, Exhibitions, Auto-Components, Hospitality, and Healthcare sectors. Prior to joining GMC, he spent 16 years with a prominent UK-based multinational, rising to the position of Finance Director for their Indian operations. During this tenure, he gained extensive insight into diverse industries, including Industrials, Machinery, Metals, and Sound & Lighting. His foundational experience also includes a significant role with a leading Indian healthcare provider.

 

A versatile professional, Sanjeev holds an MBA in Finance and a Degree in Law. This dual background enables him to navigate complex intersections of financial strategy and regulatory compliance. His core competencies include business planning,  M&A, budgeting, and financial reporting. He is recognized for his disciplined approach to leading client engagements and driving long-term business success.
